Age Group Awards

Award winners will be recognized at the awards ceremony in the Handley stadium at approximately 10 AM following the race.

 

Top 3 Female and Male finishers in each of the following age groups will be recognized with an award - 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-90+

• 2nd Place Female and Male: $1,000

​“Local” is defined as a resident of the following: Winchester City (VA), Frederick County (VA), Clarke County (VA), Warren County (VA), and Berkeley County (WV).

​

Local Runner Awards will not be presented at the awards ceremony after the races.  Local Runner Award winners will be verified after the race and awards will be mailed directly from Runners’ Retreat.

BEAT THE COURSE RECORD BONUS - $5,000

*Monoflo International is sponsoring a Beat the Course Record prize.

If the overall male or female winner beats the current course record, a $5,000 prize will be awarded by Monoflo International.

Prize & Payout Guidelines/Rules

• 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall winners must fill out a W-9 after the race results have been verified, prize checks to be mailed by Frederick County Parks and Recreation within 30 days.

• Overall 4th place, 5th place, Masters, and Grand Masters will receive prize in form of a Truist gift card at event. 

• Awards are non-transferable. Overall and Local payouts can not be combined (eg, If a local wins the overall race, they are not eligible for the Local payout as well. Same applies to Masters and Grand Masters payouts).

• 1st-5th Place Overall Race Prizes will be determined by Gun/Clock Time. Age Group and Category Winners will be determined by Chip Time.

 

Beat the Course Record Payout Rules:

• Must be present at the awards ceremony following the race.

• Beat the Course Record will be determined by Gun/Clock Time.

• Beat The Course Record payout is in addition to the Overall Payout (eg, if the overall winner also beats the record, their payout is $6,500 (Beat the Course Record: $5,000 and Overall: $1,500).

• Beat the Course Record winner will communicate directly with representatives from Monoflo International to arrange payout of prize.

• Only one (1)  Beat the Course Record will be recognized by gender (eg, if more than one male and/or female runner beats the record, only the fastest male and/or fastest female will be awarded the Beat the Course Record payout).
